Education Ridgeview at-home

Dear Wolverine Parents and Guardians, Families,

As you know, the health and well-being of our students, staff, and communities where we live and serve is our highest priority. As concerns about Coronavirus (COVID-19) increases, we are taking additional precautions to keep all of or Wolverine Families safe while supporting the educational needs of our students. Therefore, to support our Ridgeview Charter Schools (RCS) students while our school is closed, we are providing a continuity of a learning plan called “Ridgeview-at-Home.”

What is Ridgeview-at-Home?
Ridgeview-at-Home is a remote learning opportunity that encourages students to continue learning beyond the walls of the classroom. All grade level classroom assignment packets that were distributed on Friday, March 13, 2020, are materials that extend learning opportunities previously taught by the students classroom teachers. The classroom assignments will help deepen your child’s understanding and prepare them for standardized assessments. While students are engaged in “Ridgeview-at-Home,” assignments will be provided by the students teacher and may be completed virtually or via paper and pencil.

What are the best practices for Ridgeview-at-Home.
Engage in the daily conference call with teacher by dial-in to (605)475-4796, entering pin #192291 for access during the teachers daily remote Office Hours from 9am-1pm for online assignment instructions, classroom announcements and updates. Attendance is recorded daily!
Create a consistent schedule and learning space for your student.
Allow students to work in increments of 60 minutes at a time on a daily basis.
Students are encouraged to complete the classroom assignment packet and submit for grading. Note: Currently, you are able to scan completed assignments within the packet as a PDF document and email to your teacher for grading.
To continue and maintain assessments that we currently have in place, students are encouraged to access iStation and work on both reading and math.
Where do I obtain my Ridgeview-at-Home assignments?
On Friday, March 13, 2020, students received a paper copy “packet” that includes three weeks worth of classroom assignments for completion. In the event that a student has misplaced his or her packet, all materials are posted on our RCS Website at www.ridgeviewcharter.org .

Do you have internet access?
Spectrum is offering free broadband and Wi-Fi access and will be available for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To receive this service, call 1-844-488-8395.

Do you need additional reading and curriculum resources?
